Description
The DPS1135 is one of a line of power switches designed specifically for USB Power Delivery and other hot-swap applications. Exception status is sent via the analog interface, and numerous functions such as current limit, overvoltage protection, and output voltage ramping up can be configured. The quick role change capability is implemented, and it meets with the USB Power Delivery Specification Release 3.0, V1.0a requirements.
The voltage range for this device is 4.5V to 24V. It has a quick short-circuit response time, which ensures system stability. The integrated port-discharge function allows the input and output ports' voltage levels to be discharged to meet the USB Power Delivery Specification's standards. To enable applications that are subjected to strong capacitive loads and the possibility of short circuits, comprehensive fault detection and recovery techniques are provided. Reverse voltage and current blocking, input overvoltage protection, output overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, and overtemperature shutdown are some of these techniques. In addition, the output voltage rise time can be modified to reduce in-rush current and maintain system stability. To prevent erroneous triggering, a 7ms deglitch is applied before any exception situation is informed through the low-active FAULTB signal.
The DPS1135 is contained in the V-QFN4040-17 packaging, which is low-profile and space-saving and made from environmentally friendly materials.
