TDK Corporation (Japanese: TDK株式会社, Hepburn: TDK Kabushiki-gaisha) is a multinational electronics corporation based in Japan that produces electronic materials, electronic components, and recording and data storage media. The initials "TDK" are an abbreviation of the company's original Japan ese name: Tokyo Denki Kagaku Kōgyō K.K. (Tokyo Electric Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.). The company is a component of the  Nikkei 225  and  TOPIX  indices and is traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
