ElectroluminescentOptoelectronics is a field of study that involves the use of electronic devices that convert electrical energy into light. This can include devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and laser diodes, as well as the components and circuits used to control and drive these devices.
Electroluminescent (EL) materials are a type of material that produces light when an electric current is applied to it. This process is called electroluminescence. EL materials are often used in optoelectronic devices such as displays, backlights, and light panels. They are known for their low power consumption and wide viewing angle.
EL materials are typically made from inorganic compounds such as zinc sulfide or silicon-based organic polymers. The material is coated onto a substrate, such as a plastic or metal sheet, and the electrodes are applied to the surface of the material. When a voltage is applied across the electrodes, the EL material emits light.
