Energy Metering ICsData converters are electronic devices that are used to convert analog signals, such as voltage or current, into digital signals, or vice versa. Data converters are used in a variety of applications, such as in audio and video systems, telecommunications equipment, and instrumentation systems.
Energy metering ICs, or integrated circuits, are specialized data converters that are used in energy meters, such as those found in electrical power meters and gas meters. Energy metering ICs are designed to accurately measure the flow of electrical or gas energy, and to convert the analog signals from the meter into digital signals that can be processed and displayed by the meter.
