Motion Sensors - AccelerometersAn accelerometer is a type of motion sensor that is used to measure acceleration, or the rate of change of velocity. Accelerometers are commonly used in a variety of applications, including smartphones, automobiles, and fitness trackers.
Accelerometers are typically small, electronic devices that contain one or more accelerometer sensors. These sensors use a combination of microelectromechanical (MEMS) technology and electronic circuitry to measure acceleration.
