Thermal ManagementIntegrated circuits, or ICs, are tiny electronic circuits that are made up of transistors, diodes, and other components. They are called "integrated" because all of these components are combined into a single chip, which can be as small as a few millimeters in size.
Power management integrated circuits, or PMICs, are specialized ICs that are designed to manage and regulate the power supply in electronic systems. They are often used in portable devices, such as smartphones and laptops, where power consumption and efficiency are critical.
Thermal management is an important consideration in the design and operation of electronic systems, including integrated circuits. As electronic devices operate, they generate heat, which can affect their performance and reliability. Thermal management refers to the techniques and technologies that are used to control and manage this heat, such as cooling systems and heat sinks, to ensure that the devices operate within their safe temperature limits.
In the case of integrated circuits, thermal management is especially important because the tiny size of the circuits means that heat can build up quickly, and the high densities of the transistors and other components make them sensitive to temperature changes.
