Thin Film CapacitorsA capacitor is a passive electronic component that is used to store electrical charge. It consists of two conductive plates separated by an insulating material called a dielectric. When a voltage is applied across the plates, the capacitor stores electrical energy in the form of an electrostatic field. Thin film capacitors are a type of capacitor that is constructed using thin layers of conductive and insulating materials deposited on a substrate, typically using a process called vacuum deposition.
