Thyristors - DIACs, SIDACsDIACs (diode-alternating current) and SIDACs (silicon-controlled rectifier-alternating current) are types of thyristors. Thyristors are a class of semiconductor devices that are widely used in electronic circuits for switching and controlling electrical current. DIACs and SIDACs are two-terminal, bidirectional devices that can conduct current in either direction when triggered. They are commonly used in AC switching applications, such as phase control and TRIAC triggering, where their bidirectional conduction capabilities are useful. DIACs and SIDACs are often used in conjunction with other thyristors, such as TRIACs, to form more complex switching circuits.
