
Bharat Electronics (BEL), one of India's largest homegrown microelectronics manufacturers, said recently that semiconductor shortages are now easing, but not completely over, and the company is still seeing delays in order deliveries.
The person in charge of the company said that revenue in this fiscal year is expected to increase by 15%, and the company's annual plan has not been adversely affected by the chip shortage.
Bharat Electronics also revealed that the company has jointly proposed a proposal to build a wafer fabrication plant with HAL Group, and the company plans to invest about 25 billion rupees (about 310 million US dollars). The company said its proposal is currently in the approval stage, It will take one to two years to officially start construction, and the project will be put into operation three to four years later.
