Intel CEO Gissinger tweeted today celebrating 30 years of Intel and India, and posted a photo with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Intel said Kissinger was in India talking to local Intel employees and meeting with government leaders.
Intel (Intel) pointed out that Intel has invested in India for more than 30 years. It set up a sales office in India in 1988 and an R&D center in India in 1998. The R&D center in India is Intel's largest R&D center outside the United States.
Intel said Pat Gelsinger was in India to communicate with local Intel employees, in addition to meeting with customers, suppliers and government leaders.
Intel pointed out that the Indian R&D center is invested in all product areas, including client, server, data center, Internet of Things, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) SoC design, platform, software and hardware.
In response to the Indian government's intention to establish a regional semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, Intel said that Intel's R&D center continues to invest in accelerating innovation and design engineering in India, but there is no clear plan to manufacture in India.
