According to businessKorea reports, Samsung Electronics will establish a new global research organization under the DS Business Headquarters in December.
It is understood that the newly established global semiconductor research department will be led by the vice president of the DS Business Unit, and is expected to analyze the semiconductor market and other related industries and explore new markets.
At present, the Samsung Group has several research institutions such as the Samsung Research Institute of Samsung Electronics responsible for cutting-edge technology research, the Samsung Securities Research Institute, and the Samsung Global Research Institute. However, these research institutions are scattered in different fields, and none of them engage in in-depth analysis of the semiconductor industry.
Samsung Electronics believes that due to the disruption of the global supply chain caused by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the supply of semiconductors is seriously insufficient, so it is necessary to establish a separate internal semiconductor research organization. It is reported that the agency will be established next month.
