Exposure of M2 max chip running points, slightly improved performance

Apple did not release the latest MacBook computer as scheduled this year, but the data of the new product has been exposed recently.

The latest tweet from the Twitter account ShrimpApplePro shows that a device marked as Mac14.6 has appeared on the Geekbench 5 platform; according to Geekbench 5, the device is equipped with Apple's M2 Max chip, but in fact this chip has not yet appeared on the Geekbench 5 platform. Apple's official information.

According to the background of the Geekbench running sub-base, Apple has a computer with the model Mac14,6, which is equipped with a new M2 Max chip, a 12-core CPU, a main frequency of up to 3.54GHz, and 96GB of memory. Geekbench 5 single-core 1889 points, multi-core 14586 point. In contrast, the previously launched M1 Max, which has a 10-core 3.2GHz CPU, scored 1,746 points for single-core and 12,154 points for multi-core.

Comparing the scores of the two alone, the M2 Max is only about 14 percent faster than the M1 Max, though it's unclear whether Geekbench 5 failed to measure the full performance of the new processor. But it's really unlikely that the M2 Max isn't a huge upgrade over the M1 Max.
