TSMC initially planned to produce 20,000 wafers a month in Arizona, but now aims to double that capacity and produce more advanced chips there, the sources said.

 

It is reported that TSMC's Arizona factory in the United States is expected to hold the first batch of machine equipment arrival ceremony on December 6. At that time, TSMC will invite guests including customers, suppliers, academic circles and government representatives to celebrate the arrival of the first batch of machine equipment to the factory. important milestone. TSMC pointed out that with the arrival of machinery and equipment, it means that the factory building has been partially completed, and it will be ready to move in the first batch of cutting-edge equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. The 5nm factory in Arizona started construction about 18 months ago, and the construction progress is as expected. Mass production will start in 2024, with a monthly production capacity of 20,000 pieces.
