Arm's cumulative total shipments have reached 250 billion pieces

Arm announced its financial report for the third quarter of 2022, with a single-quarter revenue of US$746 million, a year-on-year increase of 28%. Among them, the shipments of chips using the Arm architecture of partners reached 8 billion pieces, a new high in a single quarter, and the cumulative total shipments officially crossed the new milestone of 250 billion pieces.

Arm emphasized that in the third quarter, the chip shipments of its partners hit a record high, mainly because Arm's diversified market development continued to drive the strong growth of royalties and licensing fee revenue.

In Arm’s third quarter report, licensing fee revenue reached US$300 million, an annual increase of 65%, mainly due to the signing of a new long-term strategic cooperation agreement by four important partners, covering an automotive OEM, a cloud service provider, and a leading microcontroller manufacturer, and a consumer electronics semiconductor manufacturer.

In addition, the royalty revenue in the third quarter reached US$446 million, an increase of 12% year-on-year, partly due to the strong demand for Arm-based server technology and Arm-based automotive chips. Mobile phone and cloud server applications are also popular in the market.

Arm disclosed in its quarterly report that all target markets in the third quarter showed strong double-digit or triple-digit revenue growth, covering the four major areas of automotive, terminal products (consumer electronic devices), infrastructure and the Internet of Things.

Arm CEO Rene Haas said, "Having been CEO of Arm for almost a year, I am extremely grateful to our teams, partners, and everyone in the entire ecosystem for their contributions as we define the future of computing. Contribution. With as many as 250 billion Arm-based chips are changing the world, we are bound to exert greater influence and change the world again. Global data centers, Internet of Things systems, automobiles and next-generation consumer devices , all require more and more high-performance computing power, which has created a long-term demand for Arm technology and innovation. These strong revenue performances are a testament to the hard work of each team and their continued contribution to building the future with Arm technology. "
