EMCP Chip and Flying Wires: Access Linux Partitions on Windows with ext2Fsd

As we all know, the emcp chip stands for EMMC (embedded MultiMediaCard) combined with LPDDR (Low Power Double Data Rate), which is basically a chip that integrates the memory and storage of a smartphone. Removed a Samsung emcp from a damaged and scrapped phone motherboard. It has a capacity of 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage, and it is packaged in BGA245. When searching online, most of the results are about traditional EMMC and BGA221 flywire card readers. However, you can also find some pin definitions for BGA254. If you dont have a card reader, then try to find an SD card adapter. You can choose to first connect the adapter pins and then use the built-in card reader on your laptop to read it.

Then you can proceed to flywire according to the pin definitions:

· Connect D1 to DAT1

· Connect D0 to DAT0

· Connect GND to VSS

· Connect CLK to CLK

· Connect VCC to VDD

· Connect VCCQ to VCC

· Connect CMD to CMD

· Connect D3 to DAT3

· Connect D2 to DAT2

The process of flying the wires is slow and requires patience. Use enamel-coated wire that is thinner than a strand of hair, so it exerts minimal force and won't damage the solder pads.

When you plug it into the computer, it will show up as a removable disk drive. If you open it, you'll see a prompt saying that it needs to be formatted. DiskGenius will only show numerous partitions because Windows cannot read Linux's EXT3-EXT4 partitions. In the future, you can try installing ext2Fsd to see if it helps with reading them.
