AMD's Sales Soar in 2023 with Processor Upgrades and Strategic Pricing Adjustments

According to foreign media reports, Intel's introduction of the Alder Lake series processors with hybrid architecture design has temporarily stabilized the decline in the consumer market and put pressure on its competitor, AMD.

As a result, although AMD released the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs based on the Zen 4 architecture in 2022, they initially did not achieve satisfactory results due to factors such as pricing.

However, in 2023, with the introduction of models featuring 3D V-Cache technology, AMD's sales started to gradually regain vitality.

Reports indicate that starting in the second quarter of 2023, AMD made a series of CPU supply adjustments and simultaneously made the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs more cost-effective by adjusting their prices. They also increased the supply of entry-level models.

With these parallel developments, AMD has gradually adjusted its positioning in the high, mid, and low-end market segments.

After implementing these adjustments, AMD improved its sales situation by adjusting the prices of mid-range and high-end CPUs. Additionally, the supply of entry-level CPUs has also increased significantly.

Compared to the same period in 2022, the current supply situation is more abundant and reasonable, which has led AMD to start recommending distributors to strengthen their platform product sales.

Therefore, if distributors put in enough effort, it is expected that AMD will have good sales results in 2023 and generate more revenue.

Furthermore, the report emphasizes that CPU adjustments alone are not enough for AMD to maximize its benefits. Many users also hope for more affordable prices, especially for mainstream B650 motherboards on the AM5 platform.

Although AMD released the A620 chipset in 2023, further reducing the cost of building the new platform, its limited expandability fails to fully meet the needs of some users. Moreover, with limited options available in the market, pricing and sales strategies are expected to be adjusted in the future.
