Cens Sets GPU Overclocking Record: 4 GHz Milestone Approaching

June 18th, News Update: Overclocker Cens Sets New World Record in GPU Overclocking, Just 70 MHz Away from 4 GHz Milestone.

Cens, the renowned overclocker, has once again shattered the world record for GPU overclocking, coming incredibly close to surpassing the 4 GHz mark by a mere 70 MHz.

This impressive achievement was made possible by utilizing the powerful Colorful iGame RTX 4090 LAB Edition graphics card, which stands as the flagship version of the iGame Vulcan series. With a GPU base clock of 2235 MHz and a boost clock of 2625 MHz, this card boasts a peak TDP of 515W.

Just last month, Cens accomplished a remarkable feat in the overclocking competition by achieving a clock speed of 3.825 GHz, securing the top position in HWBOT's GPUPI 3.3 32B rankings.

It's important to note that HWBOT competitions do not solely rely on graphics card frequencies for rankings. Instead, they employ a software called GPUPI, which calculates the value of π using the Bailey-Borwein-Plouffe formula and leverages OpenCL or CUDA optimizations for parallel computing.

Presently, Cens has claimed the first-place position with an impressive time of 46 seconds and 383 milliseconds, outperforming the second-place competitor by nearly a whole second. Additionally, the peak frequency achieved by this graphics card stands at a remarkable 3930 MHz, marking the highest recorded GPU frequency in human history.
