DIY HP C7000 Duct Fan Modification Guide

DIY HP C7000 Duct Fan modification with high-powered fan (coarse and fine wire versions: complete guide)

The actual modification involves adding a 20K-100K potentiometer. It's not too difficult to get it spinning, but integrating the entire assembly requires some hands-on fabrication skills!

The modification principle is to simulate the original machine's control potentiometer for on/off functions and adjust the speed by changing the potentiometer's resistance. It's also possible to use a switch to achieve high and low-speed switching. The fine wire version has lower power output compared to the coarse wire version, so the modification plan has some flaws. The coarse wire version draws an actual current of 14A, providing maximum power output. If you want to create a simple diagram for wind power, I recommend using the coarse wire version. Personally, I used a portable lithium battery pack for dust blowing purposes. The actual demonstration I made was based on the coarse wire version, with the fine wire version having a slightly different setup, mainly involving an additional 20K resistor connected in series to the potentiometer's high terminal. Everything else is the same.

Experience with the Coarse Wire Version Modification: The airflow is powerful and aggressive, stable and reliable. However, the actual performance doesn't reach the claimed 1.2KG parameter. It's barely sufficient for blowing dust.

In summary, modifying the HP C7000 duct fan through DIY methods, whether using the coarse or fine wire version, allows for improved performance and customization. By adding potentiometers and switches, users can achieve adjustable speed control and enjoy a reliable and powerful airflow. Although the fine wire version has slightly lower power, both versions are suitable for practical applications like dust blowing. With some creativity and hands-on skills, enthusiasts can maximize the potential of these modified fans and experience their effectiveness.
