High-Efficiency 600V IGBTs by Nexperia: Reliable Power Switching

Nexperia, a leading expert in high-capacity production of basic semiconductor components, has made an exciting announcement today. They are entering the Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) market with their 600V device series, starting with the impressive 30A NGW30T60M3DF. With this addition, Nexperia expands its product portfolio to meet the increasing demand for efficient high-voltage switching devices at competitive prices.

The new IGBTs from Nexperia offer significant benefits for power conversion and motor drive applications in various industries. These include industrial motor drives (such as servo motors ranging from 5 to 20 kW at 20 kHz), robotics, elevators, machine operators, industrial automation, power inverters, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), photovoltaic (PV) string modules, EV charging, induction heating, and welding.

Nexperia's 600V IGBTs feature a robust and cost-effective design, providing exceptional performance even at high temperatures (up to 175°C). They offer ultra-low conduction and switching losses, improving power efficiency and reliability. Designers can choose between the Medium-Speed (M3) and High-Speed (H3) series IGBTs, allowing safe parallel connection of multiple devices. Additionally, these IGBTs have lower thermal resistance and incorporate full current reverse soft recovery diodes, ensuring stability under overcurrent conditions.

Dr. Ke Jiang, the General Manager of Nexperia's IGBT and Module Business Unit, highlights the significance of this release for designers. The introduction of IGBTs provides them with more options for power switching devices, fulfilling diverse power application needs. Nexperia's IGBTs complement their existing CMOS and wide bandgap switching device series, offering a comprehensive solution for power electronic designers.

These IGBTs are packaged in environmentally friendly TO247-3L standard packages and adhere to the stringent HV-H3TRB quality standards, making them suitable for outdoor applications.
