On July 19, 2023, Pickering Electronics has introduced a cutting-edge reed relay designed to meet the demands of the electronic components industry. The new 104HT series relay is built to withstand high temperatures and voltages, operating flawlessly at up to 125°C. With over 50 years of expertise, Pickering Electronics has developed this micro-miniature relay with a single-in-line (SIL) package, featuring a pin spacing of 6.35mm and an impressive isolation voltage capacity of 4kV.
This innovative relay addresses a common challenge faced by distributors when evaluating the performance of reed relays. While temperatures above 85°C can adversely affect relay functionality, Pickering Electronics has overcome this limitation by enhancing the magnetic drive and using specialized encapsulation materials that ensure insulation resistance. As a result, their new relay can reliably operate at high temperatures, providing a customizable solution for specific requirements.
The Pickering 104 series reed relays offer internal high-permeability magnetic shielding, effectively neutralizing any magnetic interference. Additionally, they provide the option for electrostatic shielding. With versatile configurations available, including 1 Form A, 2 Form A, and 1 Form B, and coil voltages of 5V, 12V, or 24V, these relays cater to a wide range of applications. Optional internal diode protection further enhances their performance.
When it comes to isolation voltage, Pickering's relays offer a choice of four dry reed switch options capable of withstanding DC voltages of 1.5kV, 2kV, 3kV, or 4kV. For applications requiring even higher isolation voltage, the 3kV and 4kV versions feature increased spacing between switches and coil pins to accommodate the elevated voltage levels. Pickering Electronics also offers various special build options and fully customized designs for users who require higher-rated voltage or enhanced temperature endurance. Moreover, they provide relays with mercury-wetted switches, ensuring bounce-free switching for specific applications. These relays boast a minimum rated isolation voltage of 1500V DC and a maximum switch power of 50W.
With their advanced features and robust design, Pickering Electronics' new reed relays are poised to revolutionize the electronic components market, offering distributors reliable and efficient solutions for high-temperature and high-voltage applications.
