Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a recognized leader in the electronics component industry, has proudly unveiled its latest innovation – the R3T2FPHM3. This cutting-edge component merges a standard rectifier with a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) into a singular, powerful solution that caters specifically to the automotive sector. Developed by Vishay General Semiconductor, the R3T2FPHM3 boasts an ingenious design featuring an oxide planar chip structure and a strategically designed common cathode circuit configuration. Within its compact FlatPAK 5 x 6 package, it seamlessly integrates a 3 A, 600 V standard rectifier and a 200 W TRANSZORB® TVS.

Engineered to excel in demanding environments, the R3T2FPHM3 is primed for automotive applications, with an operating temperature range spanning from -55°C to +175°C. Its versatile applications include safeguarding sensor units, empowering distributed airbag modules, and facilitating low-power DC/DC conversion within power distribution units. This dual-chip solution not only optimizes PCB space but also simplifies layout considerations, ultimately leading to reduced overall costs for these mission-critical applications.

Beyond its efficiency benefits, the R3T2FPHM3 offers designers a comprehensive solution for low-clamping voltage requirements exceeding 24 V, enhancing the safety and performance of the systems it serves. The device stands out with its notably low rectifier forward voltage drop of 0.86 V, contributing to minimized power losses and heightened operational efficiency. Furthermore, its TVS component features a robust breakdown voltage of 27 V.

In addition to its remarkable performance specifications, the R3T2FPHM3 boasts impressive compliance standards. It aligns with the IEC 61000-4-2 standard for electrostatic discharge (ESD) capability, covering both air discharge and contact discharge modes. Additionally, it achieves a humidity sensitivity level of 1, as per J-STD-020 specifications, and maintains its structural integrity even at a maximum lead-free peak reflow temperature of 260°C, all while meeting the UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant rating.

In line with Vishay's commitment to environmental responsibility, the R3T2FPHM3 is fully compliant with RoHS standards, representing a halogen-free solution. As a testament to its quality and reliability, the component has successfully obtained AEC-Q101 certification, further underscoring its suitability for automotive applications.

The R3T2FPHM3 is now available for sampling, and its mass production is already in progress, with a lead time of 12 weeks for supply fulfillment. This innovative solution stands to redefine efficiency, safety, and reliability within the automotive electronics landscape.
