Infineon Unveils Four-Channel Digital Isolator

Infineon Technologies has recently unveiled a cutting-edge four-channel digital isolator designed to cater to the demands of modern electronic systems in industrial and automotive applications. This product expansion enriches the ISOFACE portfolio, addressing the need for robust, efficient, and precise data communication capabilities.

The ISOFACE four-channel digital isolator is strategically categorized for diverse applications. The AEC-Q100 certified ISOFACETM 4DIRx4xxHA series serves automotive needs, including onboard chargers, battery management systems, inverters, and motor control. Simultaneously, the JEDEC-compliant ISOFACE 4DIRx4xxH series is engineered for industrial applications, spanning renewable energy, servers, telecommunications, industrial switch-mode power supplies, industrial automation, and isolated serial peripheral interfaces.

Encased in a 300mil PG-DSO-16 wide-body package, these four-channel digital isolators boast four data channels, providing superior isolation capabilities. With an extensive operating power supply voltage range of 2.7 to 6.5V, they ensure stable performance across diverse environments. Operating at speeds of up to 1 Mbps under 3.3V power supply voltage and 15 pF load capacitance, each channel showcases a mere 1.6 mA maximum current consumption, highlighting its energy-efficient attributes.

Additionally, Infineon's robust coreless transformer (CT) technology underscores powerful system noise immunity, featuring a common-mode transient immunity of at least 100 kV/µs and an impressive isolation voltage withstand capability of up to 5700 Vrms. These isolators exhibit resilience in extreme temperature conditions, ensuring unwavering and dependable performance. They effectively tackle environmental challenges, including voltage transients, electromagnetic interference, electrostatic discharge, and electrical interference.

The newly introduced ISOFACE four-channel digital isolators boast precise timing performance and compatibility, contributing to the realization of high-power density designs. Furthermore, certifications at both semiconductor component and system levels streamline the security certification process, expediting product time-to-market. These isolators stand as an optimal choice for robust and efficient electronic systems, offering exceptional data communication capabilities for a spectrum of industrial and automotive applications.
