Tesla China Layoffs: Some Departments Up to 50% Cuts!

April 16th Update: Tesla, the leading global electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced significant adjustments to its global workforce, exceeding 10%. This decision was communicated to all employees through a company-wide memo issued on Monday. Recent industry insights suggest that the magnitude of layoffs in China will surpass the global average.

Insiders reveal that Tesla's restructuring efforts in China notably exceed the publicly announced 10%, particularly impacting the sales department. Layoff rates vary across departments, with some undergoing optimization ranging from 30% to 40%, and select areas experiencing up to a 50% reduction in workforce.

Tesla China assures affected employees of compensation ranging from N+1 to N+3, with streamlined departure procedures on the same day.

Recognized for its robust benefits package, Tesla China offers competitive remuneration, including a base salary of over 5K for frontline workers, accompanied by bonuses, allowances, and overtime pay, equating to 17 months' salary annually.

Furthermore, Tesla China extends benefits such as 7% social insurance, 5% housing provident fund contribution, complimentary work meals and transportation, and comprehensive commercial insurance coverage for employees' families. Employees also benefit from coverage of parental medical expenses.
