If you have a batch of GREENTEK 14W GU10 high-power spotlights with foreign trade specifications, you might find this DIY article helpful.
First, take a look at the head of the lamp and measure its dimensions.
The bottom diameter is close to 25mm, and the height is about 22mm. A diameter of 25mm is quite similar to the E27 base size. If the E27 base refers to an outer diameter of 27mm, then the inner diameter won't be much larger than 25mm. Measure the inner diameter to confirm this!
The measurements are indeed quite close, so you can try swapping them.
First, remove the two power posts from the GU10 base, then strip the wires. Tin the wires connected to the casing to ensure a secure connection.
Slip on the E27 base. It should fit just right—not too loose, not too tight.
Next, install the lamp head lock.
By rotating the handle, compress the steel post so that the steel pin extends to lock the lamp head in place.
Place the spotlight, rotate the handle, and you'll hear a click as the lamp head locks in.
Give it a wiggle with your hand to make sure it's secure. To check how tightly it's secured, you can refer to the following image of a disassembled part (you don't need to include this in your DIY steps).
After destroying the lamp head, you can see that it is pressed in quite deeply, ensuring good stability.
Install a new lamp head.
Next, handle the contact point in the center and press on the contact cap.
Done. Connect it to the power for testing.
Connect to the power source, flip the switch, and it lights up smoothly. The phone camera captures four red circles in different directions, which looks quite nice. When shining on the ceiling, the light spot is very round.
With that, the modification is complete.
