Foxconn to Invest $383M in Vietnam PCB Factory

Foxconn Singapore has been awarded a licence to invest $383 million in a factory to produce printed circuit boards (PCBs) in Vietnam, state media reported on Monday. This new factory, located in Bac Ninh province in northern Vietnam, is expected to produce 2.79 million units annually.

As the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and assembler, Foxconn has invested over $3.2 billion in Vietnam since its initial entry into Southeast Asia in the early 2000s, with significant manufacturing operations in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.

In June of this year, reports surfaced regarding Foxconn's plans to manufacture 5G AirScale equipment for Nokia at its facilities in Bac Giang.

Recently, Foxconn's subsidiary Fushan Technology, through its wholly-owned affiliate Lingfeng, made its third investment in Vietnam totaling approximately $42.362 million. Fushan Technology is engaged in diversified manufacturing, processing, and assembly activities, spanning mobile devices, audio equipment, computer devices, optical equipment, wearable technology, and electronic and telecommunications equipment.

Foxconn underscores Fushan's ongoing diversification efforts in Vietnam, encompassing household appliances, smartphones, automotive components, ICT, electric vehicles, and tablets.
