In this article, we’ll transform a BAOLIANG desk lamp by adding a lithium battery. This lamp is more compact compared to the Vavofo model. It features dual-color LEDs, stepless dimming, brightness memory, and a lamp head that can rotate 90 degrees left and right, making it a great alternative to the Vavofo.

The lamp's rated input voltage is DC 5V-1A, with a maximum power output of 10W.

It offers warm white and cool white light, with a three-color mix option, which is an improvement over the single-color options available in the Vavofo.

Internally, it uses a single-chip FT8023. There are circuits available online for the FT8022, which is a single-channel driver, while the FT8023 is a dual-channel driver.

Since the internal circuit is solely for LED driving, we can integrate a power bank circuit that includes a battery level indicator.

The internal space can accommodate up to four 18650 batteries, but because we need to include the power bank circuit, we ultimately used three 18650 batteries.

On the left side, there's a touch panel for displaying the power bank's battery level; simply tap the screen to check the status.
