DIY Jellyfish Lamp: Craft Your Own Ambient Light

If you’re interested in DIY jellyfish lamps, check out this article to learn how to create a cozy jellyfish atmosphere using a beverage bottle! You can use gradient-colored LED hat lights to make one. Since it will be placed in water, you'll need to ensure it’s waterproof by using the neck and cap of a mineral water bottle, filling it with hot melt glue, and sealing the bottom with AB glue.

Material 1: Beverage bottle cap. After comparing several options, the cap from Kunlun Mountain water bottles has excellent light transmission, and the bottle material is high-quality with the right thickness for DIY projects.

Material 2: Colorful LED hat lights. These come with a built-in chip that executes smooth color transitions. I prefer a gradient light effect similar to the breathing light of Razer mice, rather than a flashy, erratic light.

Twist seven LEDs together.

Make sure to set up the corresponding voltage reduction and current limiting for the power supply. After soldering, test it out. If everything works, you can fill it with transparent glue.

Prepare the bottle cap and body by trimming the bottle to resemble a jellyfish shape. Leaving a little extra length on the neck will enhance the effect.
