MediaTek October Revenue Reaches 25-Month High

On November 8, MediaTek announced consolidated revenue for October 2023, reaching NT$51.117 billion, marking a 14.42% increase from the previous month and a 19.4% rise from the previous year. This strong performance, driven by robust flagship chip shipments, offset declines in revenue from certain consumer device sectors, setting a 25-month record for single-month revenue. Year-to-date revenue through October totaled NT$443.66 billion, reflecting an annual growth rate of 27.97%.

During its earnings call at the end of October, MediaTek shared a positive outlook for Q4, anticipating that revenue growth from its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400, would help counterbalance the seasonal dip in demand for consumer electronics. Across MediaTek's three main business segments, projections for Q4 include growth in mobile devices, a decline in smart devices, and stability in power management ICs.

With an exchange rate of 1 USD to NT$31.7, MediaTek estimates Q4 revenue to range between NT$126.5 billion and NT$134.5 billion, which represents a quarterly fluctuation from a 4% decline to a 2% increase. Gross profit margins are expected to be around 47% ±1.5%, with an expense ratio forecasted at approximately 32% ±2%.
