If you're interested in modifying a radio, take a look at this article.
The TECSUN CR-100 radio has long been discontinued, but it still works decently. The time is quite accurate, but after disassembling and repairing it, you may notice that vigorous shaking causes it to lose power. In that case, the time will need to be reset and repaired again.
The wires inside were replaced with fine silver-plated Teflon wires that can withstand high temperatures. However, the power loss issue persists, and the problem may lie with the battery clip.
The battery clip was remade, using a bottle cap, with the red and blue wires marked for positive and negative connections.
The wires were sourced from a computer power cable, thick enough to connect directly, reducing intermediary connections.
A 4mm pipe was used, and the hole was enlarged with a craft knife to allow easy insertion and removal of the 18650 battery.
A rubber band or elastic band was used to secure it in place.
Everything fits quite well.
After shaking it vigorously again, the power loss issue was gone. Both medium and FM band reception work excellently. It's all done!
