DIY Soldering Iron Modification with WORX Battery

Sometimes you need to solder but don't have a plug, which can be inconvenient. If you have the US version of the WORX battery, you can follow along with this modification.

Start by disassembling the charger, then work on the circuit board, and finally build the soldering iron. You can refer to the diagram below.

After testing, everything works perfectly, except for the lack of charging functionality.

If you also have a smaller battery, you can 3D print a custom base.

Once assembled, it should look like this:

It allows for both external power supply and battery power, with a power switch circuit.

In the future, you can also charge the battery while using an external power source.
