DIY: Boost RX8025 Clock Accuracy

How to improve clock accuracy on the RX8025? If you're into DIY clocks, this article is worth checking out.

First, you'll need the RX8025T and RX8025AC, along with an SOP14 adapter board. Compared to the DS1302, the RX8025 can be used as a drop-in replacement without needing to modify the circuit or code. Simply connect the X1 pin of the DS1302 to the output pin 3 of the RX8025, and leave X2 floating, just like you would with an external crystal oscillator.

If the battery isn't working well either, you can remove it, solder two wires, and attach a mobile phone battery instead.

The RX8025T adapter board looks like this:

Place the battery at the bottom of the clock:

And you're done!
