DIY Starfish S5 Flashlight with LH351D & UV LED

If you're interested in building a Starfish S5 straight flashlight with the high CRI LH351D LED and 365nm UV, check out this article.

For the casing, you can use the Starfish model, just like in this article, with a solid copper battery compartment and a metal tail switch—great value for the price.

The LED is the Samsung LH351D Ra90 high CRI LED, available in 3500K and 5000K options.

You can also use Starfish's copper PCB.

The UV LED is a made-in-China UV LED, and the quartz lens with a gold-plated shell looks really nice.

Next, you'll need to solder the driver and apply thermal paste, and the LED compartment will be assembled.

The positioning ring might stick out a bit, but other than that, everything looks great.

For the other straight flashlight, you can install a UV filter as shown in this article. This way, the whole flashlight looks sleek and pitch black, which is pretty cool.
