On May 14, MediaTek officially introduced the Dimensity 9400e, the latest addition to its flagship mobile chipset lineup. Engineered with a next-generation all-big-core CPU architecture, the Dimensity 9400e delivers exceptional performance and energy efficiency, empowering smartphones with premium mobile gaming, AI, imaging, and connectivity experiences.
Built on TSMC's third-generation 4nm process, the Dimensity 9400e features a powerful octa-core CPU with four ultra-large Cortex-X4 cores clocked up to 3.4GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. This high-performance architecture is designed to handle demanding multitasking and compute-intensive workloads while maintaining optimized power consumption.
For graphics performance, the chipset integrates a 12-core Immortalis-G720 GPU, providing enhanced rendering capabilities ideal for high-end mobile gaming. The platform supports hardware-based mobile ray tracing and delivers console-class global illumination effects, significantly improving visual realism and immersive gameplay.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity APU with Star Speed Engine, the 9400e enables ultra-responsive gaming with extended battery life and optimized thermal management. It incorporates MAGT 2.0 (MediaTek Adaptive Gaming Technology) for real-time performance tuning between the chip and gaming applications, ensuring stable high-frame-rate output with lower power draw. The inclusion of MFRC 2.0+ (MediaTek Frame Rate Conversion) also offers up to 40% power savings during gameplay.
In the field of artificial intelligence, the Dimensity 9400e integrates the latest NeuroPilot SDK, supporting a wide range of generative AI applications and services. With SpD+ (Smart Performance Decoder) acceleration, the chip boosts the efficiency of large language models (LLMs), enabling support for mainstream global models such as DeepSeek-R1-Distill, Qwen1.5B, Llama7B, Llama8B, and multimodal models like Gemini Nano and LLaVA-1.5 7B, all operable at the device level.
On the imaging front, the Dimensity 9400e is equipped with a flagship-class 18-bit RAW ISP and supports AI semantic segmentation video engine with 16-layer image segmentation. It also enables triple-microphone HDR noise reduction, delivering professional-grade video and audio capture for mobile content creators and photography enthusiasts.
Smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e are expected to launch later this month.
