MediaTek has officially introduced its T930 5G platform, engineered specifically for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and mobile Wi-Fi (Mi-Fi) devices. Built on an advanced 4nm process, the T930 platform delivers exceptional integration and energy efficiency, supporting Sub-6GHz frequency bands and enabling ultra-fast 5G connectivity speeds of up to 10Gbps.
According to JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek, the continuous growth of 5G mobile data demand, driven by diverse applications and services, alongside the rapid evolution of edge AI, is redefining expectations for network performance. The T930 platform is designed to meet these needs, offering low-latency, long-lasting, and high-speed connections to power the next generation of smart and connected devices.
The T930 incorporates cutting-edge global technologies, including support for 6-carrier downlink aggregation (6CC-CA) and advanced uplink transmission with 5-layer 3Tx configuration, achieving uplink speeds of up to 2.8Gbps. It also pioneers the adoption of 200MHz 8-receiver (8Rx) downlink bandwidth, improving spectral efficiency by 40% at cell edges and significantly extending signal coverage.
Fully compliant with 3GPP Release-18 standards, the T930 features MediaTek's latest modem innovations, including 3Tx and L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput) technology. The platform integrates the MediaTek M90 5G modem, a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, and a dedicated network processor to ensure seamless data handling across 5G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet networks. It also includes integrated RF transceivers, GNSS receivers, and power management components.
With support for integration with dedicated NPU chips, the T930 enables generative AI capabilities at the edge. It is designed to empower AI-driven gateway devices with advanced processing and intelligent interaction across connected networks. This edge AI innovation was recently recognized with a Best Choice Award at Computex and will be showcased during the exhibition. MediaTek is actively collaborating with leading partners to accelerate product development based on the T930 platform.
As the global FWA market is projected to grow by nearly 220% between 2024 and 2030, MediaTek is strengthening its role in driving industry innovation. Through collaboration with major international FWA ecosystem partners, the company continues to expand the reach of its FWA and Mi-Fi solutions across global markets.
