Cadence announces completion of acquisition of Future Facilities

On July 11, Cadence, a well-known EDA supplier, announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire Future Facilities, an energy performance optimization solutions company. Enterprises can reduce carbon emissions by making informed business decisions in data center design, operations and lifecycle management.

Future Facilities' product portfolio includes an electronics cooling solution that powers Cadence's leading Celsius Thermal Solver, an innovative computational fluid dynamics (CFD) electronics cooling simulation technology that optimizes performance and cooling efficiency in energy-intensive data centers. Their technology virtualizes the data center ecosystem by creating a 3D digital twin that enables operators to predict, visualize and quantify the impact of any changes in the data center prior to implementation and during operations, enabling customers to design and Operational efficiency optimizes business goals. Future Facilities' proven technology has been adopted by corporate giants, enterprise data centers, managed services and colocation providers, including HP, Digital Realty, Equinix and Kao Data.

The design and operation of a data center involves a complex supply chain, from buildings, services, IT to electronics, which includes everything from efficient domain-specific chips, PCBs, to the design of chillers for cooling. By combining CFD technology with a wide range of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools and power and cooling modules, Future Facilities simulates the impact of server changes on physical capacity, power infrastructure and cooling. Improves uptime and capacity utilization by predicting hot spots before they occur. The solution also improves data center Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) by eliminating excess power consumption.

“The global data center market is driving the growth of the digital world, and the market size is huge, with annual investment of up to 200 billion US dollars,” said Tom Beckley, senior vice president and general manager of the custom IC and PCB group at Cadence Corporation. “The acquisition of Future Facilities strengthens our Fidelity CFD solutions and digital twin solutions, including electronic cooling and energy management, help businesses maximize capacity and energy efficiency, and reduce costs and critical infrastructure risks."

Cadence believes that with the addition of Future Facilities' experienced team and mature technology, Cadence can provide a more comprehensive chip, package, PCB and system data center solution to achieve efficiency improvements, save power, and minimize energy consumption. shutdown.

Hassan Moezzi, founder and CEO of Future Facilities, said: "We are delighted to join the Cadence team and look forward to combining our data center and electronics technology solutions with Cadence's expertise in intelligent system design to further advance from chip design to data Performance, sustainability and energy efficiency of all elements of the center.”
