Foxconn Secures Major OpenAI Deal!

According to reports, Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is optimistic about the AI market outlook for next year and is preparing to secure more major contracts. Chairman Young Liu revealed on November 12 that the company will announce a collaboration with OpenAI during its annual Tech Day on November 21, hinting that the event will showcase a major strategic partnership.

OpenAI has recently made significant moves in the global AI race, forming alliances with technology giants like NVIDIA, AMD, and Amazon AWS, and securing multi-billion-dollar projects. Its CEO, Sam Altman, visited Taiwan in late September and met with Foxconn, sparking strong expectations about a potential collaboration between the two companies.

"We will definitely work with OpenAI," Liu emphasized. He noted that OpenAI aims to establish 1GW (one gigawatt) of computing capacity in the Americas, equivalent to about USD 50 billion in infrastructure value — a clear sign of soaring demand for AI computing power.

Liu further explained that the evolution of AI — from ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence) to AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and eventually ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence) — will lead to exponential growth, with Foxconn positioned as a key technology partner supporting large-scale computing infrastructure and next-generation AI model deployment.

Regarding Foxconn's ongoing collaboration with TECO Electric on modular AI data centers, Liu revealed that the upcoming Tech Day will highlight Foxconn's vertically integrated capabilities and its AI modular product lineup. "Even I was surprised by what our team achieved," he said.

Liu concluded that Foxconn aims to act as a turnkey solutions provider for AI data centers — from design to deployment — helping clients rapidly build and scale their computing capacity in the accelerating AI era.
