If you're interested in upgrading your DIY power amp, especially the output terminals, you might as well take a look at this article.

The picture above shows the finished DIY computer power amp. For the case, you can use plywood and acrylic. If you don't want the amp to look too stiff and boring, you can install a milliammeter like the one shown above. Watching the needle swing back and forth makes it feel more lively.

The picture above shows a 7N oxygen-free copper speaker cable that is 2.5 meters long.

If your DIY amp ends up like the one in the picture above, where the hot glue doesn't hold well and the terminal comes loose, or even the wire breaks,

then you can follow this article and reinstall the output terminals together, and also learn more about DIY power amps.

First, you still need to take it apart and reinstall everything. If hot glue comes off easily, you can just use screws instead, which will be much more secure.

As shown in the picture above, this cable connects to the amp board's plug, and it looks a bit like the power switch cable inside a PC case.

You can remove the wire together with the terminal.

Then you need to find a 3 mm drill bit, and you can measure it directly with a caliper.

image.png

Next, fix the drill bit in the chuck and start drilling by hand.

image.png

Plastic is not hard to drill, just drill four 3 mm holes.

The back panel of the case is plywood, so you can use a 2 mm hand drill to position and drill the holes, and drill them all the way through.

After that, you can try installing it.

Then you need to remove the soldered wires.

image.png

After soldering, it should look like the picture above. Just add a bit of hot glue to secure the wires.

image.png

Then you need to thread the wires through the holes in the back panel of the case.

image.png

Finally, tighten the four screws.

Plug in the connector. You can use gold-plated pins, which should have no problem with oxidation.

Put the cover plate back on, and the front will look like the picture above.

The back looks like the picture above.

Connect and power it on as shown above.

This amp is made as mono. If you have a better potentiometer, you can turn it into stereo by yourself.

The end.
