On January 9, MediaTek reported its December 2025 revenue at NT$51.266 billion, marking a 9.3% increase from the previous month and a 22.9% rise year-on-year, driving full-year revenue to a record NT$595.965 billion, up 12.3% from 2024. In the fourth quarter, consolidated revenue reached NT$150.188 billion, reflecting a 5.6% quarterly gain and 8.8% year-on-year growth.
Previously, MediaTek had projected Q4 2025 revenue using an exchange rate of USD to TWD at 1:30.6, estimating it would range between NT$142.1 billion and NT$150.1 billion. The actual figure slightly exceeded this upper range, outperforming expectations. Interestingly, 2025's revenue peak occurred in the first quarter, while the third quarter marked the lowest point—a seasonal pattern that differs from previous years.
As a global leader in smartphone chip shipments, MediaTek still derives over half of its revenue from mobile chip business. In recent years, the company has actively expanded its share in flagship smartphone chips, launching the Dimensity 9500 in 2025. Its earlier forecast estimated flagship smartphone chip revenue would surpass USD 3 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of over 40%.
Looking ahead to 2026, industry observers anticipate MediaTek may surpass NT$600 billion in annual revenue for the first time. With the global smartphone market stabilizing, shipment growth may slow. Continued growth in mobile chip revenue will likely depend on optimizing the product mix and increasing the average selling price.
Beyond smartphones, MediaTek is expanding its presence in wireless networking, automotive, and specialty ICs. The company is actively competing in the WiFi 7 market and recently unveiled its WiFi 8 chip platform, the Filogic 8000 series, at CES 2026, signaling its next growth direction. Production of these new products is expected to begin in Q4 2026, representing a potential growth driver.
Another key growth area is MediaTek's specialty ASIC business. CEO Rick Tsai has previously highlighted a target of USD 100 million in cloud-related ASIC revenue for 2026, underscoring the company's focus on diversifying revenue streams beyond mobile chips.
