According to reports, Apple is moving part of its Mac Mini desktop production from Asia to the United States. The new production line is set to launch later this year at a Foxconn facility north of Houston. This move follows Apple's announcement last August to invest $600 billion in the U.S. over the next four years.
Apple's Chief Operating Officer, Sabih Khan, confirmed that Mac Mini production will continue in Asia, but the U.S. line will gradually expand to meet domestic demand. He also emphasized strong confidence in Mac Mini's long-term market prospects, noting its performance has surpassed that of the Mac Pro.
Earlier this year, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a 25% tariff on Apple products made overseas, contrasting with previous exemptions on Chinese electronics imports. Industry analysts see this as a key factor influencing Apple's production shift.
In addition to the new line, Apple is expanding the Houston facility and adding an advanced manufacturing training center to further enhance production capacity.
