DIY Wireless Bluetooth Console Cable Guide

If you're interested in DIY-ing a Bluetooth Console cable, you might want to check out this article.

If your work or daily life involves tweaking switches or routers and you've been using a USB-to-Console cable all along, sometimes the environment makes it inconvenient. In that case, you can opt for a wireless Console cable. However, many of them come with old charging ports and poor compatibility. If that doesn't work for you, why not DIY one yourself?

First, here's what you'll need—these are all readily available parts:

· Aluminum case, size 80*58*24

· 5V to 3.3V module

· IPEX to SMA adapter

· RJ45 to RS232 cable

· 2dB small antenna

· Battery charge/discharge module (Type-C charging port, highly compatible)

· 2400mAh lithium battery

· Bluetooth to RS232 module

Once you have all the items ready, you can roughly place the parts inside the aluminum case to plan their layout. After planning, start making holes in the aluminum case. You can use a hand drill to make the holes, and then smooth them out with a file. After all the holes are done, you can start connecting the components.

The connection order is: battery → charge/discharge module → 5V-to-3.3V module → Bluetooth-to-RS232 module.

Once it's assembled, you can test it. If it works well, you're done! No more standing around with a cable while debugging. The battery life is super strong. The working current is 75mA, so with a 2400mAh battery, it can last a very long time.

The finished product and components look like the images below:

Of course, you can further optimize it yourself—for example, by adding a battery level display to prevent sudden disconnections.

The end.
