According to industry sources cited by ZDNet Korea, Samsung Electronics has recently revised its production plan for the Galaxy S26 series scheduled for April 2026, increasing total output from an earlier estimate of 2.4 million units to 3.0 million units. The flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra has emerged as the primary growth driver, with its expected sales share rising to 60%–70%.
Under the updated plan, Samsung is set to manufacture 1.3 million units of the Galaxy S26 standard edition, 200,000 units of the Galaxy S26 Plus, and 1.5 million units of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Compared with mid-March 2026 projections, production of the standard model has been raised by 500,000 units, the Ultra model by 200,000 units, while the Plus variant has been reduced by 100,000 units. Despite these adjustments, the Ultra variant continues to dominate total output allocation.
Industry insiders noted that before finalizing the revised production strategy, Samsung had already increased orders for key components in March 2026, signaling stronger-than-expected demand planning. Supply chain analysis suggests that the robust performance of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is supported by both internal resource allocation advantages amid rising memory prices and product differentiation driven by new features such as the Privacy Display.
Although rising memory prices may put pressure on margins within Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) division, coordination with the Device Solutions (DS) segment is helping partially offset cost impacts. Market expectations also indicate that Samsung may slightly adjust production downward in May 2026, reflecting its flexible and demand-responsive manufacturing strategy.
In the mid- to low-end segment, production plans for the Galaxy A series have been reduced due to higher memory costs. For example, April output targets for the Galaxy A57 have been lowered from 1.8 million units to 1.6 million units, while the Galaxy A17 has been reduced from 4.4 million units to 3.9 million units.
