
According to Samsung Electronics, the company has unveiled four new 2026 Odyssey gaming monitors, including a flagship 6K ultra-high-resolution model designed for the premium gaming display market. The latest lineup highlights Samsung’s continued push into high-performance gaming and OLED display technologies.
The new Odyssey series includes the 32-inch “Odyssey G8 (G80HS)” with 6K resolution, the 27-inch “Odyssey G8 (G80HF)” featuring 5K resolution, the 4K “Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH),” and the 32-inch 4K “Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH).”
The 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS) delivers a 6144 × 3456 6K resolution and supports Samsung’s Dual Mode technology. Users can switch between a 6K 165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a 3K 330Hz high-refresh-rate mode depending on gaming requirements. Samsung stated that the monitor is optimized for visually demanding action titles as well as fast-paced FPS and racing games.
Meanwhile, the 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF) supports a 5120 × 2880 5K resolution with refresh rates up to 180Hz. Through Dual Mode functionality, the monitor can also operate at up to 360Hz in QHD resolution.
Both models support DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity and are certified for Nvidia G-SYNC compatibility while also supporting AMD FreeSync Premium technology. Samsung additionally integrated HDR10+ Gaming technology, which dynamically analyzes game scenes and frames to optimize HDR image quality.
Samsung also introduced new OLED gaming monitors under the Odyssey OLED lineup. The Odyssey OLED G8 will be available in both 27-inch and 32-inch versions, featuring 4K resolution and refresh rates up to 240Hz. These OLED models include anti-glare technology, DisplayPort 2.1 support, and 98W USB-C charging capabilities.
The OLED series adopts Samsung’s QD-OLED five-layer tandem architecture, designed to improve panel efficiency, lifespan, and brightness performance. The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 has also received VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
According to market research firm IDC, Samsung is projected to lead the global gaming monitor market in 2025 with an 18.9% market share. The company is also expected to maintain its leadership position in the OLED monitor segment for a third consecutive year, with a market share of 26%.
