If you happen to have several sensor lights that cannot last very long and need frequent charging, or their built-in batteries have swollen after long-term use, and you also have some spare 18650 batteries available, you can upgrade the sensor lights with higher-capacity batteries.
The batteries used in sensor lights are usually 3.7V as well, but their capacity is relatively small. In addition, these sensor lights generally do not have complete charging and discharging protection circuits, so the batteries can easily fail after long-term use. Therefore, when replacing the battery, you can also add an external TP4056 charging and discharging module with built-in protection functions.
A 10cm sensor light can fit two 18650 batteries perfectly, and you can simply fix them in place with hot glue. After the replacement, the overall size becomes larger and the appearance is slightly less attractive, but it becomes much more practical. After all, sensor lights are usually installed in one place and are not moved frequently.
Connecting two 18650 batteries in parallel can increase the overall capacity, making good use of unused batteries. With this modification, the sensor light should be able to work for several months without needing a recharge. When the batteries run out of power, you can also use a power bank to recharge them directly.
