DIY Electric Heating Lighter from Hair Dryer Wire

If you happen to have an unused hair dryer, you can remove the heating wire inside it. At that moment, you may suddenly come up with the idea of making a DIY electric heating lighter. An electric heating lighter takes slightly longer to heat up, but it is both convenient and safer.

This is the heating wire removed from the hair dryer.

First, calculate the current properly. The heating wire glows red at 1.5A. Cut it to the right length and twist it into this shape, then install it on the perforated board.

Make sure the heating wire on the bottom side does not short circuit.

Luckily, you have two batteries. Connect two 1350mAh batteries in parallel and use a 4A protection board.

Then secure everything in place.

Use a TP4056 perforated board charging module. Add an LED under the heating wire as a power indicator.

During the first 3 seconds after powering on, the heating wire has not turned red yet, but the LED can indicate that power is already being supplied.

Finally, install everything. In addition to the switch, add a high-current tactile switch.

This is the finished appearance. Turn on the power switch, and the indicator light turns on.

There is also an LED indicator below the lighter outlet. When you press the tactile switch, the LED shows that power is being supplied even before the heating wire turns red.

After about 5 seconds, the heating wire becomes red hot.

Lighting tissue paper works without any problem.
