
According to media reports, TSMC's first customer to use 3nm wafer production is Apple, and the product will be launched in the second half of 2023 at the earliest, while the order volume of other customers will fall in 2024.
According to sources, TSMC has started small-volume production of 3nm chips. 3nm wafer casting will begin to generate revenue in the first half of 2023, while 3nm orders from more customers such as AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, MediaTek, Broadcom and more will be completed in 2024. MediaTek does not expect to launch 3nm chips until the third quarter of 2024.
It is reported that Apple's new M3 SoC is expected to take the lead in mass production using TSMC's 3nm N3E process, rather than the new iPhone. The Apple M3 chip is likely to launch in the second half of 2023 or the first quarter of 2024.
TSMC plans to hold a technical seminar in Taiwan on August 30, where Time Factory may update its process technology roadmap and business outlook.
