Samsung Supports Korea AI RAN Projects
According to media reports, Samsung Electronics recently announced that it has signed agreements with Korea Telecom (KT) and SK Telecom to support their Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network (AI RAN, or AIRAN) projects under the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT)’s “Hyper-Intelligence Network” initiative in South Korea.
Under the agreements, Samsung will serve as KT’s exclusive global supplier and as a key supplier for SK Telecom. The projects are scheduled to begin in October 2026 and will deploy 5G Standalone (5G SA) private networks across various industrial environments, including shipyards and petrochemical facilities.
The projects are designed to validate AI RAN capabilities in real-world industrial settings and generate practical insights for future deployments. By integrating artificial intelligence with radio access network technologies, the initiative is expected to provide valuable experience in improving network intelligence, operational efficiency, and connectivity for industrial applications.
