DIY Kitchen Electronic Scale Lithium Battery Upgrade

If you happen to have a kitchen electronic scale with fairly good accuracy and a maximum weighing capacity of 5 kg, but it originally uses dry batteries and is particularly inconvenient to use, you can repurpose an old phone battery and convert the scale to a rechargeable lithium battery with a small charging board, making it much more convenient to use.

When you open it up, you will find a slot that fits the battery perfectly, and this is what it looks like after the modification.

Since the lithium battery voltage is slightly higher, you can add a diode in series to reduce the voltage.

You can cut a slot on the side to make charging more convenient.

The red charging indicator light is on.

It works quite well.

You no longer have to worry about the battery running out of power, and the modification is complete.
