Nvidia Plans to Back Four German AI Startups

According to media reports, Nvidia is expanding its investment in Europe's artificial intelligence (AI) sector. Following its announcement last week that it would invest in four French startups, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled plans on Tuesday to support four startups in Germany.

The investment in Germany is part of Nvidia's previously announced commitment to invest nearly $10 billion across Europe. The broader initiative aims to support businesses, universities, and research institutions throughout the region.

The four German startups selected for support are Agile Robots, which develops AI-powered robots for manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare; Avelios Medical, which develops AI-based hospital management software; Mirelo, which focuses on generative AI models for video and audio; and Reflex Aerospace, a company specializing in satellite design and manufacturing. Nvidia has not disclosed the specific investment amounts allocated to the four companies.

Huang highlighted Germany's strong industrial base, mathematical expertise, and research capabilities. He said AI would strengthen rather than replace the country's industrial capabilities, describing the technology as a new tool for businesses to improve their operations and competitiveness.

Nvidia also plans to expand its cooperation with the German federal government and its Platform Industry 4.0, an initiative that brings together government representatives, industry leaders, researchers, and industry associations to accelerate the adoption of industrial AI.

On Monday, the German government and Nvidia signed a joint declaration of intent to advance the development of AI models for industrial applications. The collaboration is expected to support the integration of AI into manufacturing and other industrial processes, further strengthening Germany's position in industrial AI development.
