If you have a Xiaomi Wi-Fi amplifier that frequently disconnects even when your device is nearby, overheating may be the cause. You might come up with the idea of adding a heatsink to help dissipate heat.

Since the amplifier is assembled using ultrasonic welding, it is difficult to disassemble completely. Instead, you can cut a large opening in the casing and install a heatsink without taking the entire device apart.
First, refer to the teardown images to determine where to make the opening.

Cut the opening at the selected position. However, the cut turns out to be slightly off. You should have made it a little farther to the right.

Although the opening is slightly misplaced, you can make the best of the situation. Besides the main chip, a smaller chip is also exposed at the lower left. Since this chip sits a little higher, the heatsink cannot lie flat. To solve this problem, you can use a small piece of thermal silicone pad and a piece of double-sided tape of a suitable thickness to fill the gap above the circuit board.

Here is the finished result. It looks pretty good, and the modification is complete.
