Fairchild (ON Semiconductor)
Fairchild Semiconductor (now owned by ON Semiconductor Corporation since 2016) was founded in 1920 by American entrepreneur and inventor Sherman Fairchild. The company invented the transistor and attracted many talented young scientists to join.
